    The Review.

I had an idea what this book was about before I picked it up, but I had no idea what to expect. My expectations were meagre compared to A GAME IN YELLOW. I thought we would be with our characters, and they would play a game. I did not know that the entirety of the book was the game.

The writing is so effective and persuasive.

To be in our characters’ heads was the most interesting part. Because the thinking is warped, and you know it’s warped, but you begin to play along. By the end of the book, no matter where you lie on the spectrum, you will feel like you have an anxious attachment style.

I had so much fun playing the game. I can’t wait for you to read it and experience what I did.

I highly recommend picking up A GAME IN YELLOW when it comes out early this Fall.

    The Review.

I loved this book. There are so many aspects that make it an amazing read. The writing is lush and beautiful. The characters are flawed and human, and I just wanted to stay in this world longer. I just wanted to keep reading.

It’s about the ties that bind. The bonds of sisterhood, the sometimes-troubled relationship between a mother and daughter, and promises that never should have been kept.

GLASS GIRLS is out in stores. It just might be the perfect book for summer. Setting up for all the fun that fall brings.

    Book Summary.

    DON’T LET HIM IN

    Lisa Jewell

He’s the perfect husband, the best cook, and the ultimate entertainer.

In his bifurcated life, she only knows the half of it. The other half is cunning, sharp, and always, always, always two steps ahead.

You can think he’s a nice guy, you can think he’s misunderstood, and you can let your guard down, but whatever you do, DON’T LET HIM IN.

    The Review.

This is Jewell’s spin on the DIRTY JOHN trope, and I had a good time with it. It is not my favorite of hers, but it was entertaining and a quick read.

The writing is what you come to expect from Jewell. This being domestic suspense is a bit underwhelming. The stakes are low and even when something scandalous is going on it is more akin to town gossip than anything a thriller would normally bring.
