Two Girls Down by Louisa Luna

    Synopsis.

When two young sisters disappear from a strip mall parking lot in a small Pennsylvania town, their devastated mother hires an enigmatic bounty hunter, Alice Vega, to help find the girls. Immediately shut out by a local police department already stretched thin by budget cuts and the growing OxyContin and meth epidemic, Vega enlists the help of a disgraced former cop, Max Caplan. Cap is a man trying to put the scandal of his past behind him and move on, but Vega needs his help to find the girls, and she will not be denied. With little to go on, Vega and Cap will go to extraordinary lengths to untangle a dangerous web of lies, false leads, and complex relationships to find the girls before time runs out, and they are gone forever.

    The Review

TWO GIRLS DOWN Louisa Luna Don’t let these horrible covers persuade you to pass this one up. It’s a gem and since no one talking about the series it’s an underrated gem. With a Goodreads rating of 3.85 with only around 2,000 reviews, it’s not getting the rounds it deserves. I love Alice and Cap’s relationship and I LOVE their partnership. I also really love Louisa Luna’s writing. It’s quick and people smart. The case we’re following in TWO GIRLS DOWN is interesting and the narration for the audiobook is cumbersome but flawlessly executed There’s one character towards the end that made my jaw hurt while reading her section. It was an immersive experience not often found in everyday thrillers. I think this is due to the success of the character building. The characters and depth of the story lead to a procedural that is both layered and textured. The depth is what makes LOUISA LUNA an auto-buy author. Even if the characters were to change her craft will carry the story. Loved this one! ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

  • Book Review: Verity by Colleen Hoover

    Verity by Colleen hoover

    Synopsis.

Lowen Ashleigh is a struggling writer on the brink of financial ruin when she accepts the job offer of a lifetime. Jeremy Crawford, husband of bestselling author Verity Crawford, has hired Lowen to complete the remaining books in a successful series his injured wife is unable to finish. Lowen arrives at the Crawford home, ready to sort through years of Verity’s notes and outlines, hoping to find enough material to get her started. What Lowen doesn’t expect to uncover in the chaotic office is an unfinished autobiography Verity never intended for anyone to read. Page after page of bone-chilling admissions, including Verity’s recollection of what really happened the day her daughter died. Lowen decides to keep the manuscript hidden from Jeremy, knowing its contents would devastate the already grieving father. But as Lowen’s feelings for Jeremy begin to intensify, she recognizes all the ways she could benefit if he were to read his wife’s words. After all, no matter how devoted Jeremy is to his injured wife, a truth this horrifying would make it impossible for him to continue to love her.

    The Review

VERITY Colleen Hoover I’m still in the middle of reading all of Colleen Hoovers standalones and now that I’m reading this the third or fourth time around I’m simultaneously saying “Ooh. I forgot that part” And “Oh, no Girl! Don’t do that” I realized while reading this that the MC was both hornier and braver than I am, sacrificing her personal safety to see if her crush is as good as it’s said he is. No thanks! I’ll pass on that one. I know this book isn’t going to appeal to every reader. It’s truly unbelievable, the characters are people I would avoid on the sidewalk, and they’re doing implausible things. But I’m eating it like up candy. As fun as reading can be! ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
