    The Review.

    This is Jewell’s spin on the DIRTY JOHN trope, and I had a good time with it. It is not my favorite of hers, but it was entertaining and a quick read.

    The writing is what you come to expect from Jewell. This being domestic suspense is a bit underwhelming. The stakes are low and even when something scandalous is going on it is more akin to town gossip than anything a thriller would normally bring.

    The Review.

    I couldn’t wait to read this new book in a series by Karin Slaughter. Slaughter is one of my favorite authors. If you’re unfamiliar with her work, the one thing to know is that she’s not messing around.

    This book was fantastic. It sets the stage for the entire series. We are introduced to a cast of characters. All of which I look forward to learning more about and hearing their story.

    Emmy is perfect as an MC. She is flawed and doesn’t always do or say the right thing. She is human, and I loved following her in this book.

    If this isn’t already on your summer TBR, it should be.

    Olivia is a ghostwriter. One day, she receives a request from her agent. Her father, Vincent, would like her to ghostwrite his latest project.

    She reluctantly agrees.

    The Review.

    I enjoyed my time reading THE GHOSTWRITER. There are two storylines. The main one is fully fleshed out and explored. The secondary storyline felt a bit rushed, which was my only complaint.

    The characters are constructed well, the writing is great, and the pacing is pitch-perfect. This would make an excellent Father’s Day gift for someone who is stuck in a thriller rut.

    THE GHOSTWRITER instantly reminded me of the show HAPPY FACE. If you like that show and the dynamics it presents, I would recommend checking out THE GHOSTWRITER.
