Book Review: Next to Heaven by James Frey

Next to Heaven by James Frey

Book Summary.

NEXT TO HEAVEN

James Frey

As the story went I greatly enjoyed my time reading. It was soon that I realized I was reading it as a special treat.  Only to be listened to when I was alone and feeling perhaps a little naughty.

In the bath, right before bed, in the quiet of the night I’d turn it on. The storyline unraveled like a game of telephone. She told her who promised not to tell her who told the rest of them, because of course she did. The gossip of the event spread like wildfire until the telling of the story became its own event to attend.

The event will have ramifications for each and every person. Those who attended, those who wanted to, those who were more happy to talk about it than attend.

The Review.

Reading this book feels like listening in on adult conversations. I feel way too young (I’m not) to be reading this. Which brought its own kind of reading pleasure.

I recommend to those who may be searching for something to read in the dark. And especially those searching for parts of themselves in the dark.
