Home is Where the Bodies Are by Jeneva Rose

    Book Summary.

HOME IS WHERE THE BODIES ARE Jeneva Rose Home is where the secrets are kept, where they are exposed, HOME IS WHERE THE BODIES ARE. Michael left as soon as he could. Beth never did, and Nicole isn’t where she is no matter where she may be. The three siblings are meeting at the lawyer’s office to go over their recently deceased mother’s testament. While reading the will it is declared that a box be left to Beth. Inside the box, the siblings find a series of VHS tapes, from different years in their life. One of the videos sticks out to Beth and Nicole and Michael agree to watch it. They may never recover from what they find on the tape. Their dad is covered in blood, he’s holding a dead body and asking for help. Their mother puts the camera down and tries to stop recording but the camera keeps rolling. What it captures is jaw-dropping and the opening of Jeneva Rose’s HOME IS WHERE THE BODIES ARE.

    The Review.

I LOVE, LOVE, LOVE Jeneva Rose and the only thing I love more are her books. There’s something about the casualness of her perfection. Like she just rolled out of bed and typed up the book before breakfast. It makes reading her book very pleasurable to me. It’s like reading in cruise control. You know you can sit back and relax because the person who is writing knows what they are doing. HOME IS WHERE THE BODIES ARE has just the right amount of characters, the story is not overly complicated or unbelievably outrageous. It’s just the right amount of fiction to make it believable. I listened to the audiobook, and I thought all the narrators did an awesome job, particularly January LaVoy and Cassandra Campbell. Their performances added to my enjoyment of the book. HOME IS WHERE THE BODIES ARE is out ON April 30, 2024. With less than 400 ratings on Goodreads, making it my Under The Radar Thriller Thursday pick for this week. HOME IS WHERE THE BODIES ARE is set to be published on April 30th, 2024! Thanks to Libro.fm for the advanced listening copy! HOME IS WHERE THE BODIES ARE…

Will their honeymoon give their relationship new life, or will it be the death of their marriage? Only time and THE SLEEPWALKERS by Scarlett Thomas will tell.

    The Review.

THE SLEEPWALKERS had all the usual suspects. And just because you’re used to having them around doesn’t make them guests. The novel progressed in a reliable yet lackluster way. I don’t think anything here is going to surprise you. I admit to seeing parallels between THE WHITE LOTUS and THE SLEEPWALKERS. However, they are dissimilar in vibes and enjoyment. It reminded me of Freida McFadden’s THE HOUSEMAID. I think you will like this one if you are a fan of hers. Thanks to Netgalley and Simon & Schuster for the advanced copy! THE SLEEPWALKERS…⭐⭐

She’s Not Sorry by Mary Kubica

    Synopsis.

SHE’S NOT SORRY Mary Kubica I can’t believe I’ve read another Mary Kubica novel. I swore I wouldn’t pick up another book written by her, but I did. The premise sounded so good I broke a promise to myself and requested it. She made me go back on my word… And SHE’S NOT SORRY Meghan Michaels is a hardworking, underappreciated ICU nurse at the local hospital. She recently separated from her husband and is now living on her own with her daughter, Sienna. Sienna is a lot to handle on her own, but Meghan is handling the best she can on her own while working overnight shifts at the hospital. One night while on duty a high-risk patient comes in and becomes a patient in Meghan’s ICU. There are a lot of questions surrounding the event that brought this patient in. At first, there are more questions than answers but slowly the clues start to come together and when you find out what really happened to the patient, you’ll be surprised. I was. SHE’S NOT SORRY arrives in bookstores and libraries today. If I were you, I’d put in my reserve now!

    The Review.

I’m so glad I was wrong about Mary Kubica and I’m so glad I was right about SHE’S NOT SORRY. It was just the thriller I was looking for. The twists and surprises felt executed by a seasoned professional and I loved having my reading sessions in Kubica’s hands. It’s a mind maze, a series of questions answered only to bring up new questions. Everything you know for sure is no longer certain. Everything you thought was, wasn’t and everything you needed to be, couldn’t. I enjoyed my time reading SHE’S NOT SORRY and I think you will too. Thanks to Netgalley, Harlequin Trade Publishing, and Park Row for the advanced copy and the opportunity to provide feedback! SHE’S NOT SORRY…⭐⭐⭐⭐
