HOME IS WHERE THE BODIES ARE
Jeneva Rose
Home is where the secrets are kept, where they are exposed, HOME IS WHERE THE BODIES ARE.
Michael left as soon as he could. Beth never did, and Nicole isn’t where she is no matter where she may be. The three siblings are meeting at the lawyer’s office to go over their recently deceased mother’s testament.
While reading the will it is declared that a box be left to Beth. Inside the box, the siblings find a series of VHS tapes, from different years in their life. One of the videos sticks out to Beth and Nicole and Michael agree to watch it.
They may never recover from what they find on the tape. Their dad is covered in blood, he’s holding a dead body and asking for help. Their mother puts the camera down and tries to stop recording but the camera keeps rolling. What it captures is jaw-dropping and the opening of Jeneva Rose’s HOME IS WHERE THE BODIES ARE.
I LOVE, LOVE, LOVE Jeneva Rose and the only thing I love more are her books. There’s something about the casualness of her perfection. Like she just rolled out of bed and typed up the book before breakfast. It makes reading her book very pleasurable to me. It’s like reading in cruise control. You know you can sit back and relax because the person who is writing knows what they are doing.
HOME IS WHERE THE BODIES ARE has just the right amount of characters, the story is not overly complicated or unbelievably outrageous. It’s just the right amount of fiction to make it believable. I listened to the audiobook, and I thought all the narrators did an awesome job, particularly January LaVoy and Cassandra Campbell. Their performances added to my enjoyment of the book.
