I’m not sure why this is called LOOK IN THE MIRROR. Perhaps it hasn’t dawned on me yet.
LOOK IN THE MIRROR by Catherine Steadman stars Maria. Maria is a nanny who usually works for very wealthy clients. She often gets to travel to exotic locations and mind the children of some of the richest families.
She receives a curious job offer to sit in a house with no children and just a mysterious handler to get her information. She doesn’t know a lot but she does know she is not allowed in the room at the end of the hall. Which makes it the only room she wants to go into.
Nina’s father just died and in his will he leaves her a vacation home that she has never known him to own during her life. When she arrives she finds that her father must’ve been a lot wealthier than she knew.
The house is luxurious and extravagant and much beyond anything she could’ve imagined him owning in his lifetime.
How these two women are connected and the story of the mystery surrounding the house is the plot of Catherine Staedman’s latest thriller, LOOK IN THE MIRROR.
This is not my first reading experience with Catherine Steadman. I’ve read a few of her thrillers and I have really enjoyed her more recent ones lately.
LOOK IN THE MIRROR is quick and fast-paced. There are twists around every corner. Just when I thought I had some part of the maze figured out, a hole would appear and I’d be dropped into a new maze with a completely different set of restrictions and barriers.
It was a lot of fun trying to figure it all out!
